Content of the project

The purpose of this project was to broaden horizons and provide experience to young people with reduced opportunities in a friendly and safe group environment. The main subject of this youth exchange were workshops aimed at understanding and researching issues of environmental protection and sustainable development, as well as encouraging active participation in democratic life in relation to these issues and empowering them with a wide set of skills that could be applied to such endeavors. All this was done in the spirit of encouraging intercultural dialogue and solidarity among young people with the desire to instill in them a stronger sense of belonging to the wider European family.
The goals of the project are closely related to the goals of Erasmus+ and the youth exchange program, namely the development of key competencies of young people with reduced opportunities in the field of environmental protection. These goals are: • promotion of intercultural and interreligious dialogue • encouraging young people to actively participate in democratic life and developing skills and attitudes of young people, • strengthening social inclusion and solidarity among young people • introducing young people to the socially important topic of environmental protection and sustainable development, encouraging them to join society and actively participate • encouraging intercultural dialogue and learning and a sense of belonging to Europe • empowering young people through the adoption of competencies, tools, methods and skills that will enable them to adopt the common fundamental values on which the EU is based and operates

The project is aimed at young people with reduced opportunities who come from rural areas. The young people involved in this youth exchange are young people with reduced opportunities who will gain the experience of international mobility in a safe group environment through group mobility. Part of the participants will be without experience or with minimal experience in the Erasmus+ program. Part of the young people from Croatia, domestic participants, will take part in an international project for the first time, including a project within the Erasmus+ program.

During the youth exchange, the participants will adopt: • ecologically sustainable and responsible behavior • find out how the EU cares and through which mechanisms it acts on environmental protection and sustainable development • how young people can actively participate in the promotion and protection of nature • what opportunities the green transition offers them in terms of personal growth and development. During the exchange, young people will take care of the environment by integrating sustainable practices, such as choosing reusable or environmentally friendly materials, reducing waste and recycling, and using sustainable modes of transportation.
